If there is such a thing as the best bow for a person’s money, then the Mission Archery Eliminator would be a top contender for the title.  At just under 0, the Eliminator is a value priced bow packed full of high end features.

At first glance the archer sees the parallel limbs and thinks quiet, shock free shooting.  The perimeter weighted cam is perfectly balanced to further smooth out the shot.  The cam working along with the limbs can propel an arrow toward the target at an impressive 319 FPS IBO.  Each Eliminator also comes with string cushions and the all new D-amplifier system.  This whisper quiet bow was also designed with the bow hunter in mind.  It is just 30.25 ATA and weighs in at just over 4 pounds making it compact and a dream to carry on any hunt.  The Eliminator was also designed to be versatile enough to fit archers of almost any size.  Its draw length can be adjusted from 24 to 30 inches and peak draw weights of 40 all the way to 70 are available.

Mission archery also produces top notch accessories that are designed to match this bow perfectly and has several pre- assembled packages available.  They feature a sight, rest, quiver, stabilizer, and a wrist sling. Prices of these packages range anywhere from up to 0 and the technology of the accessories increase along with the price.

Whether you are a beginning archer or a seasoned veteran, the Mission Eliminator is a bow that delivers performance even the most demanding archer would be proud of.

Archery Lapel Pins For Your Own Club or Competition

Archery is the art, practice, or skill of shooting arrows with the help of a bow. The bow itself is said to have been invented in the late Paleolithic or early Mesolithic periods. The sport of Archery was revived in the Eighteenth Century by Royal patronage and archery societies founded by Sir Walter Scott which were set up across the country. Each society had its own strict entry criteria, outlandish costumes, and extravagant balls.

Archery – still primitive in nature!

The history of the draft with the Arch goes back thousands of years. There have been stone arrowheads found dating from as far back as 15,000 years go. This simple weapon helped ensure man’s survival, as even the fastest animal was no match for the speed of an arrow – propelled by an archery bow.

What is Archery Fishing?

Article by Linda Thompson

Archery fishing or bow fishing is a sport where a fisherman employs archery equipment to catch fish. Archery can be traced back at least 5,000 years to the ancient Egyptians who practiced archery in hunting as well as in warfare. There is little evidence that ancient conventional archery was utilized for fishing purposes, almost certainly due to the efficiency of the fishing net. Although it is unclear exactly when archery fishing was developed it has become one of the fastest growing archery sports in the nation.

When archery fishing the fish is shot with a barbed arrow which is attached to a reel on the bow via a line. Carp are a very popular fresh water quarry of archery fishermen as well as alligator gar and paddlefish. Rays and sharks are popular prey in for salt water fishing.

When archery fishing you can shoot from the shore or wade slowly in the shallows but most people prefer to use a boat, any shallow flat bottom boat works very well.

Archery Fishing Equipment

Bows

You can use a regular hunting bow for archery fishing by simply attaching a reel to the front of the bow grip.

Arrows

Archery fishing employs much heavier and stronger arrows than those used in other types of archery. Archery fishing arrows generally are not feathered because of the relatively short distances associated with archery fishing.

Line

Line which is frequently made from braided nylon is attached to the arrow by connecting to a hole in the arrow shaft or through a slide system.

Reels

Hand-wrap reels are the simplest archery fishing reels, they comprise of a round spool that line is hand wrapped on to then fastened to a line holding slot. When the arrow is shot the line detaches from the holder and runs off the spool. The fish is then pulled in hand over hand. There is also a number of retriever type reels available.

Archery fishing is a fun and enjoyable sport, starting equipment can be brought for a very modest price and is easy to obtain, most states only require an ordinary fishing license although you should check your state laws and regulations.

Youth Bows and Genesis Bows – Easton Archery – Archery as a Sport For Kids!

Article by Glenn Prialde

Easton Archery

Easton Archery is well-known in the field of bowhunting as the makers of the finest and most durable arrow shafts, not only in the country, but all over the world. Arrow shafts made by Easton Archery actually dominated the latest 2008 Olympics in Beijing, with majority of the professional archers using this brand of arrow shafts.

Easton Archery divides their arrow shafts into hunting arrows and target arrows. These arrow shafts are made of different materials and are available in several different designs, including fell metal jacket and camouflage designs.

For target arrows, you can choose from carbon core, alloy / carbon, carbon, and alloy shafts. Meanwhile, for hunting arrows, you have several choices, which include N-fused carbon, carbon core, alloy / carbon, carbon, alloy, and bolts shafts. Easton Archery’s pride is their N-fused carbon arrow shafts, which are the first arrow shafts actually made of carbon nanotubes. This material has been known to be more than 180 times stronger than steel. Thus, these arrow shafts are able to penetrate much more deeply that other arrow shafts, and the special material used makes the shaft stronger and more durable. The best part is that these arrow shafts are light weight and do not vibrate as much as other arrows. These are very important characteristics that you should consider when looking for good quality bowhunting arrows.

Easton Archery also produces several ST arrows, which are manufactured using Easton’s Slim Technology. These arrows have a small diameter, which allows for deeper penetration of the arrow and easier kill. At the same time, these arrows with small diameters also have diminished surface area, resulting in minimal wind drift compared to regular arrow shafts.

Aside from selling these durable arrow shafts, Easton Archery also produces useful hunting accessories. You can choose from several different inserts, fletching and nocks for your arrows. Quivers and stabilizers are likewise available. You can also protect your gear with their bow cases, travel cases, arrow totes and gear wallets. They also have special hunting tools, including wrenches, bow scales, arrow scales, string wax and mapping systems. Easton Archery also offers clothing for both men and women, which include caps, t-shirts and jackets. Aside from these, they also have books and DVDs that archery enthusiasts will definitely appreciate.

Easton Archery has a very useful website. The site has an online shaft se;ector, which helps you identify several different arrow shafts that you can use, depending on the kind of cam on your bow, the point weight, the bow weight and the arrow length. They also have recommendations on which shaft is best used, highlighting the fastest and most lightweight arrow shafts, and also the heavier arrow shafts that have better penetration. Aside from this, they also have practical safety tips and a beneficial FAQ section on their website.

Easton Archery is the trusted brand in arrow shafts. They offer arrows that are lightweight, durable and penetrate deeper than other arrows in the market today. You will surely feel the difference!
